Baseball Recap: Whitmire Sets Scoring Season-High Against Calhoun Falls Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whitmire). They put the hurt on the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes with a sharp 26-1 win on Monday. Considering the Wolverines have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Dalton Williams, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Whitmire is 2-1 when Williams posts three or more RBI, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Blake Stribble, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Whitmire always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Whitmire's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.
