Softball Recap: Huron Comes Up Short

The Huron Chiefs didn't have quite enough to beat the Fenton Tigers on Saturday and fell 6-4.

Catherine Shore was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Robbins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Huron's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Fenton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Huron will venture away from home to face off against Grosse Ile at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.05 runs per game on average), something the Chiefs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fenton, they will take on Holly at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bronchos have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
