Baseball Game Preview: Murray County Central Rebels vs. Adrian/Ellsworth Dragons

Murray County Central is a perfect 6-0 against Adrian/Ellsworth since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rebels will head out to square off against the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Murray County Central will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

On Monday, Murray County Central needed a bit of extra time to put away Dawson-Boyd. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Blackjacks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since May 6, 2025.

Krew Schneider made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dugan Kluis, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Gabe Tentinger also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Murray County Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dawson-Boyd only managed six.

Meanwhile, Adrian/Ellsworth got themselves on the board against Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda last Monday, but Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda never followed suit. They blew past the Coyotes 17-0. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Murray County Central's record now sits at 10-0. As for Adrian/Ellsworth, their record is now 8-2.

Murray County Central beat Adrian/Ellsworth 3-0 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
