Tucker County had won five straight games and Raven Matthews did her part to make it six on Monday. The Tucker County Mountain Lions came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 59-55 W against the Elkins Tigers thanks in part to Matthews, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 15 boards. The match was her fifth in a row with at least 16 points.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddie Belan, who posted 20 points. Belan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Layla Fletcher, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points.

Tucker County pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25 points. As for Elkins, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Tucker County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-39 defeat against Gilmer County on the 5th. As for Elkins, they have also already played their next contest, a 43-35 loss against Buckhannon-Upshur on the 5th.
