Soccer Game Preview: Buckeye vs. Canyon View

The Buckeye Hawks will challenge the Canyon View Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Canyon View will have to contend with a Buckeye squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since January 16. Buckeye came up short against Desert Edge on Tuesday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Scorpions are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, neither Canyon View nor Verrado could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Buckeye's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-3. With that draw, Canyon View's record moves to 8-3-2.

Buckeye suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Canyon View when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Can Buckeye avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
