Basketball Recap: Scott Takes a Loss

Scott lost against Ryle back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Scott Eagles were dealt a 79-38 defeat at the hands of the Ryle Raiders. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-19.

Scott's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alex Casnellie, who posted 12 points, and Kaymon Coleman, who put up eight points. The dominant performance gave Casnellie a new career-high in points.

Scott has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Ryle, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Scott and Ryle could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. Scott will square off against George Rogers Clark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 167 places (180 vs. 13). Meanwhile, Ryle (ranked 53rd) will meet Covington Catholic (ranked sixth) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
