Basketball Recap: Madonna Takes a Loss

Madonna lost against Wheeling Central Catholic back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Madonna Blue Dons were dealt an 85-49 loss at the hands of the Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights. While losing is never fun, the Blue Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Maroon Knights are ranked fourth).

Madonna has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. The win was the sixth in a row for Wheeling Central Catholic, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Madonna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, they have already played their next contest, an 85-49 victory against Weir on the 20th.
