Parkston took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dakota Valley Panthers, sneaking past 4-2. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Kash Neugebauer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Neugebauer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Neugebauer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drew Braley, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Having lost for the first time this season, Dakota Valley fell to 2-1.
