Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Manheim Central

Manheim Central entered their tilt with Octorara Area on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Braves 8-1. That's more bragging rights for the Barons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kyle Mylin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Manheim Central is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Manheim Central got a massive performance out of Tanner Travitz, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave Travitz a new career-high. Brody Groff was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

The win got Manheim Central back to even at 4-4. As for Octorara Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manheim Central will take on Warwick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Octorara Area, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Garden Spot at 4:15 p.m.
