Baseball Recap: Oakland's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Oakland had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marian Catholic Spartans on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since March 3rd.

Oakland got a great performance from Carson Pack as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Pack a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, Kris Richardson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Asher Evans also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Oakland's win bumped their record up to 4-8-1. As for Marian Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Oakland will take on Oxford in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Marian Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on Thompson at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Marian Catholic 1.8, Thompson 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
