Volleyball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont suffered their biggest defeat since September 29th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Winchester Red & Black. The Marauders have struggled against the Red & Black recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Belmont was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why Belmont lost, don't look at Zulal Merdinian. Despite the final result, she had 22 digs.

Belmont's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Winchester, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Belmont will challenge Attleboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winchester, after both having extra time off, they and North Andover will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
