With a playoff win on the line, Wabaunsee rose to the challenge on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Clifton-Clyde Eagles 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their 28th in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Wabaunsee who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-18.

Talen Orton paced Wabaunsee's offense, picking up 17 kills. Orton got some help from Reese Michaelis and her 18 assists. Finally, Grace Zeller kept Wabaunsee's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Wabaunsee's victory bumped their record up to 34-5. As for Clifton-Clyde, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-19.

Wabaunsee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Centralia on the 25th. Clifton-Clyde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
