Basketball Recap: Southern Indians vs. East Palestine Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wellsville, Southern was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the East Palestine Bulldogs by a score of 58-46. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 75-43 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.
East Palestine lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Drew Bycroft, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and three steals. That's the most points Bycroft has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyler Bourne, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Southern moved to 7-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for East Palestine, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
