Baseball Game Preview: Fieldcrest Knights vs. Hall Red Devils

The Fieldcrest Knights will head out to face off against the Hall Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fieldcrest has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brimfield hit Fieldcrest with a six-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 15-5 to the Indians. The Knights have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Hall came tearing into Saturday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged out the Rams 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for the Red Devils as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Brody Bosi looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luke Bryant was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Geno Ferrari was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Fieldcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hall, their win bumped their record up to 19-8-1.

Fieldcrest came up short against Hall when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 6-1. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
