Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Dobie's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Dobie won against South Houston last Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Longhorns never let the Sam Rayburn Texans get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Julian Ricks looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Dobie is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 9-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dobie got a massive performance out of Eliseo Molina, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Molina has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Willard Joiner III, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI.

Dobie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Dobie is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sam Rayburn, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12-2.

Dobie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Texans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
