Softball Recap: Mount Greylock Regional Comes Up Short

Mount Greylock Regional's last matchup with Monument Mountain could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Mounties lost 22-8 to the Spartans. If the Mounties were looking for revenge after losing 12-10 to the Spartans when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kelsey MacHaffie and Malia Koffi stepped up to the plate in a big way. MacHaffie went 3-for-4 with four RBI, while Koffi got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Audrianna Pelkey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Mount Greylock Regional has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Monument Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Mount Greylock Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monument Mountain, they will take on Lenox Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Millionaires will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
