Basketball Recap: Lauren Bloom's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Valdosta over Richmond Hill

Valdosta lost against Richmond Hill two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Valdosta Wildcats lost 59-37 to the Richmond Hill Wildcats. Valdosta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-8.

Valdosta lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauren Bloom, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds. Bloom is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cierra Ingram, who posted nine points.

Valdosta has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Richmond Hill, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Valdosta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-38 loss against Tift County on the 18th. As for Richmond Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-42 win against Colquitt County on the 18th.
