Softball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodbine Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Monday.

Teygan Rasmussen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Woodbine, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-3 defeat against Sioux City West on the 10th. As for Woodbine, they will challenge Boyer Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
