Volleyball Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Takes a Loss

Elmwood-Murdock managed to slip by Bergan Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Elmwood-Murdock came up short against Bergan Catholic on Monday, falling 3-0. Elmwood-Murdock just can't catch a break and has now endured four losses in a row.

Despite the loss, Elmwood-Murdock still got an impressive performance from Zoe Zierott, who had 23 digs and one assist. With that strong performance, Zierott is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game. Hannah Bornemeier also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Zoe Janke was nothing short of spectacular for Bergan Catholic: she had 21 digs and two aces. Janke has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Elmwood-Murdock's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Bergan Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-12.

Elmwood-Murdock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bergan Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Johnson County Central on the 28th.
