Baseball Recap: Tate Comes Up Short

Tate was the 6-0 winner over Fort Walton Beach when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tate Aggies fell 11-8 to the Fort Walton Beach Vikings on Friday.

Tate saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Posta, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Posta a new career-high in hits (three). Another was Nathan Ozuna, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Tate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Tate has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. Fort Walton Beach's record now sits at 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tate will square off against Milton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tate is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season. As for Fort Walton Beach, they will face off against Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
