It was a good run, but Monterey unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 63-56 to the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates. The Plainsmen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 63-57.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Lubbock-Cooper, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.

Monterey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-44 defeat against Amarillo on the 28th. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-50 win against Tascosa on the 28th.
