Baseball Recap: Willow Glen's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Willow Glen's win against Branham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams skirted past the Bruins 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted against the Bruins since May 27, 2021.

Spencer Bartlinski was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Bartlinski was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Nolan Wirtz looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Tommy Moran was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Willow Glen's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6. As for Branham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Coming up, Willow Glen will venture away from home to face off against Cupertino at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Branham, they will welcome Mountain View at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Bruins' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
