Recap: Northside Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors
The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 25 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Spartanburg Christian Academy on Tuesday as Northside Christian Academy made off with a 62-37 win. Given Northside Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Spartanburg Christian Academy is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northside Christian Academy was led to victory by Dane Sundell and Cade McNeil. Sundell scored 23 points along with four steals, while McNeil scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Luke Bohnsack was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Northside Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy will face off against Ben Lippen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ben Lippen knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Northside Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against High Point Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully High Point Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
