Mekheem Ambursley Goes Supernova in Waterbury Career Academy Victory
Starting off the list is Waterbury Career Academy's Mekheem Ambursley, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Ambursley rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 129 rushing yards.
The win (which was Waterbury Career Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Ambursley and Waterbury Career Academy will head out to challenge Capital Prep/Achievement First at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Derby got the W thanks in part to Quincy Carter playing the best football he has all season. Carter picked up 81 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
For the year, Carter has caught 6 touchdowns while averaging 52.2 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after nine games last season, he was only averaging 9.22 receiving yards per game.

Derby's six-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Jaylen Titus. Titus was dynamite on Thursday, picking up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Unfortunately for Oxford, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Titus. Titus picked up 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Wolverines duked it out back in November of 2023.
