Baseball Recap: Sedro-Woolley Takes a Loss

Sedro-Woolley managed to slip by Lakewood the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cubs came up short against the Cougars on Tuesday, falling 7-1. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Sedro-Woolley has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Lakewood, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sedro-Woolley will take on Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Cubs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakewood, they will face off against Sehome at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
