Wheatley and Yates are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2021, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wheatley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 33 matchups -- so hopefully Yates likes a good challenge.

If Wheatley beats Yates with 88 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Wheatley beat Connally on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 88-62. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 21 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Yates had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 77-58 win over Lorena on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Wheatley is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.3 points over those games. Yates' record is now 23-6.

Wheatley came up short against Yates when the teams last played back in January, falling 83-72. Can Wheatley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
