Basketball Game Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Eastern Greene Thunderbirds

Two dominant guards in Rylan Crocker and Coby Sykes are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Orleans Bulldogs will square off against the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orleans has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three contests.

Last Saturday, everything went Orleans' way against West Washington as Orleans made off with a 56-33 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Senators: they've now won five in a row.

Orleans relied on the efforts of Alex DeWitt, who went 8-for-9 en route to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, and Bryce Jones, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points and three steals. DeWitt is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 54% in the last seven games he's played. Nate Brown was another key player, putting up four points.

Meanwhile, Eastern Greene lost to Paoli at home by a 41-27 margin on Saturday. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Orleans' victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points over those games. As for Eastern Greene, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Everything came up roses for Orleans against Eastern Greene in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 58-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orleans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
