Baseball Game Preview: Cary-Grove Trojans vs. Grant Community Bulldogs

The Cary-Grove Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Grant Community Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cary-Grove is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Crystal Lake South on Friday. They lost 11-1 to the Gators.

Meanwhile, Grant Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Grayslake Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since May 11, 2024.

Grant Community's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Cary-Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Cary-Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Grant Community in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
