Softball Recap: Ottumwa Has No Trouble Against Marshalltown

Ottumwa barely beat Marshalltown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Bobcats 12-3 on Wednesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ottumwa's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Marshalltown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ottumwa beat Marshalltown by a score of 10-0 later that day.
