Soccer Game Preview: Horizon vs. El Dorado

Horizon hasn't had much luck against El Dorado recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Horizon Scorpions will venture away from home to face off against the El Dorado Aztecs at 7:30 p.m.

Horizon is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Friday. They lost 8-0 to Del Valle. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 716th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, El Dorado had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Bel Air on Friday.

El Dorado hit Bel Air with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Natalie Del Valle, Sofia Rodriguez, and Andrea Cervantes.

El Dorado's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Horizon suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to El Dorado in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Horizon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
