Football Recap: Round Lake Takes a Loss

Round Lake lost against Antioch back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers took a blow against the Sequoits, falling 70-12. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Sequoits are ranked 119th).

Round Lake lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Evan West, who threw for 291 yards and a pair of TDs. A healthy portion of that aerial production (138 yards to be exact) went to Marqus Ries.

This is the second loss in a row for Round Lake and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Antioch, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Round Lake is set to face off against their familiar foe Wauconda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Antioch will challenge rival Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
