Volleyball Recap: Oxnard Has No Trouble Against Nordhoff

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Canyon, Oxnard was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Nordhoff Rangers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Oxnard walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-9, 25-21, 25-18.

Caiden Aguilar paced Oxnard's offense, picking up 13 kills. Aguilar got some help from JP Mawas and his 33 assists. Mawas also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Xander Young, racking up four apiece.

Oxnard's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Nordhoff, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

After both having extra time off, Oxnard and Buena will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nordhoff, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hueneme at 6:00 p.m. Nordhoff is facing Hueneme at the right time seeing as Hueneme is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
