Softball Recap: Hornell Red Raiders vs. Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines
Hornell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines by a score of 8-7. Hornell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bolivar-Richburg apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April.
Raegan Evingham put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off five hits. Evingham was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Aleah Stuart made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Bella Gardner was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
