Baseball Recap: Odyssey Institute Victorious

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Odyssey Institute). They came out on top against the Shadow Mountain Matadors by a score of 8-5 on Saturday. The Minotaur haven't had any issues with the Matadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Jay Daughtery, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Zeke Shepard also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Odyssey Institute's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Shadow Mountain, they now also have a losing record of 1-2-1.

Looking ahead, Odyssey Institute will head out on the road to square off against Highland Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Odyssey Institute's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Shadow Mountain, they will host Cortez at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
