Softball Recap: Ocean Springs Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ocean Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Biloxi Indians on Tuesday as Ocean Springs made off with a 13-5 victory. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Kylie Untisz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Ocean Springs let Kerrigan Scott and Laynee Davis run wild. Scott scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Davis went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. What's more, Scott posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie McDonald, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Ocean Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Biloxi only posted an OBP of .345.

Ocean Springs' victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Biloxi, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Ocean Springs wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against D'Iberville on the 27th. As for Biloxi, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-3 defeat against Gulfport on the 27th.
