Soccer Game Preview: Eastlake vs. Hilltop

The Eastlake Titans will challenge the Hilltop Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastlake's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Bonita Vista. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Daniel O'Campo and Avian Ortiz scored both of Eastlake's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Hilltop sidestepped Olympian for a 3-2 victory. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Eagles are ranked 862nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hilltop was without their leading scorer, Nicolas S?Nchez, in Tuesday's contest. With S?nchez sitting this one out, Noah Castillo got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 52.1).

Hilltop's win bumped their record up to 7-5-2. As for Eastlake, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-3.
