Softball Game Preview: Arroyo Grande Eagles vs. Cabrillo Conquistadores

The Arroyo Grande Eagles will challenge the Cabrillo Conquistadores at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Arroyo Grande will be strutting in after a victory while Cabrillo will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Arroyo Grande turned things around against Lompoc on Wednesday. They never let the Braves get on the board and left with a 7-0 win.

Adelana Rodriguez (2026) made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Ariana Olivas (2028) was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Kopp (2027), who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Cabrillo wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Cabrillo's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Arroyo Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.

Arroyo Grande took their win against Cabrillo when the teams last played on April 1st by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Conquistadores have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
