Basketball Game Preview: Watsonville Wildcatz vs. Marina Mariners

The Watsonville Wildcatz will face off against the Marina Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watsonville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Marina likes a good challenge.

On Friday, everything went Watsonville's way against Monte Vista Christian as Watsonville made off with an 81-55 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-22.

Meanwhile, Marina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stevenson.

Watsonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Marina, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Watsonville strolled past Marina in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 67-52. Does Watsonville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marina turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
