Volleyball Recap: Marist RedHawks vs. Lincoln-Way East Griffins
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marist had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They beat the Lincoln-Way East Griffins by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-0. Winning may never get old, but the RedHawks sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Marist easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16.
Marist has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 27-9 record this season. As for Lincoln-Way East, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 32-6.
Marist will challenge Mother McAuley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marist is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Lincoln-Way East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
