Baseball Recap: Iroquois West Victorious

Iroquois West won the last time they faced Hoopeston and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders came out on top against the Cornjerkers by a score of 6-1.

Mario Andrade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. Iroquois West is 3-1 when Andrade allows two or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Hartke, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

Iroquois West now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hoopeston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
