Independence had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They blew past the West Delaware Hawks 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Independence's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-15. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for West Delaware, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat West Delaware by a score of 6-1 later that day.
