Basketball Game Preview: Barrington Fillies/Broncos vs. Hersey Huskies

The Barrington Fillies/Broncos will face off against the Hersey Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barrington is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Last Wednesday, Barrington beat Dundee-Crown 43-31. Given the Fillies/Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th in Illinois, while the Chargers are ranked 271st in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hersey had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 62-34 victory over Buffalo Grove. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Hersey is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. Barrington pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Barrington came up short against Hersey when the teams last played back in January, falling 57-50. Can Barrington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
