Marion has gone a perfect 10-0 against Batesville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Marion Patriots will head out to face off against the Batesville Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marion has five straight victories, Batesville has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Marion didn't have too much trouble with Paragould as they won 65-50. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Rams are ranked 101st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Batesville lost 71-49 to Nettleton on Tuesday.

Marion pushed their record up to 21-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Batesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Everything went Marion's way against Batesville in their previous meeting back in January, as Marion made off with a 59-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marion since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
