Baseball Recap: Simla Takes a Loss

After flying high against Peetz on Friday, Simla came back down to earth. Simla fell 8-4 to the Akron Rams on Saturday.

Simla saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Stanko, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Treven Kocerha, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Simla's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Akron, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Coming up, Simla will square off against Limon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Akron, they will face off against Sedgwick County at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sedgwick County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Akron surely won't give up without a fight.
