Recap: Parkview Baptist Eagles vs. Port Allen Pelicans
The Parkview Baptist Eagles had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Port Allen 49-12 at home. The result was nothing new for Parkview Baptist, who have now won six contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Parkview Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abram Johnston led the charge by throwing for 164 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Kayden Tureaud, who rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
Parkview Baptist's win was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Port Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.
Parkview Baptist will head out on the road to face off against University Lab at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Lab knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Parkview Baptist likes a good challenge. As for Port Allen, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mentorship Academy at 7:00 p.m. Mentorship Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last seven games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
