Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marion). They blew past the Florence Buffaloes 65-20 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three matches by 36 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Sanchez, who rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance, Sanchez is now averaging an impressive 108 rushing yards per game. Kade Pape was another key passer, throwing for 178 yards and two touchdowns.
Marion was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Marion's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Florence, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
