            West Memphis had lost four straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-17 to make it five. They came up short against  the White Station Spartans, falling  16-6. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by  exactly ten  runs.

  Nolan Rodgers and  Cyrone Madison stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Rodgers  went 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  double, while  Madison  got on base  in two of his three plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Rodgers has become a key player for West Memphis: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 2-16 otherwise.  Randy East also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
As for White Station, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.
On White Station's side,  Cooper Walter made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Walter has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Benjamin Mendez and  Julian Haddad did most of the damage at the plate:  Mendez  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Haddad  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  Haddad has posted since back in March.  Henry Lomax was another key player,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with four  runs.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Memphis will face off against Wynne at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for White Station, they will take on Evangelical Christian at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
