Basketball Recap: Oak Ridge's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a good run, but Oak Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 70-54 fall against the College Park Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 130th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead College Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Buckmon, who went 5 of 10 en route to 20 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The contest was Buckmon's third in a row with at least ten points. Ian Inman was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Oak Ridge now has a losing record at 12-13. As for College Park, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-8.

Oak Ridge will venture away from home to take on New Caney at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Ridge is facing New Caney at the right time seeing as New Caney is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for College Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Grand Oaks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Oaks knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully College Park likes a good challenge.
