Preview: Healdsburg Greyhounds vs. Windsor Jaguars
Healdsburg has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Windsor Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-47, which was the final score in Healdsburg's tilt against Maria Carrillo on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Healdsburg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1086th, while Maria Carrillo is ranked 425th).
Meanwhile, Windsor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 51-40 to Petaluma.
Healdsburg bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Windsor, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Healdsburg suffered a grim 63-42 defeat to Windsor in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Healdsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
