Volleyball Recap: Altoona Comes Up Short

Altoona suffered their biggest defeat since November 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks, falling 3-0. The Railroaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Altoona ultimately came up short, they really made Baldwin-Woodville work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-21.

Neveah Roff paced Altoona's offense, picking up nine kills. Roff got some help from Piper Berg and her 23 assists. Lily Duquaine controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Altoona's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-16. As for Baldwin-Woodville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-15 record this season.

Altoona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Osceola on the 9th. As for Baldwin-Woodville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Amery on the 9th.
